Government has set up Strategic Policy Group
The government has set up the Strategic Policy Group (SPG) to assist the National Security Council, which advises the Prime Minister on matters of national security and strategic interests of the country.
SPG will be chaired by National Security Advisor Ajit Doval and its members include the NITI Aayog vice chairman, the cabinet secretary, the chiefs of the three defence services, the RBI governor, the foreign secretary, the home secretary, the finance secretary and the defence secretary.

The Centre in consultation with the Reserve Bank of India has decided to issue Sovereign Gold Bonds 2018-19. Navratri begins today

The festival of Navratra, which marks the worship of Goddess Durga, began today. Devotees thronged temples from early this morning to offer their prayers to the Goddess. On the first day of Navaratri, Devi Durga is worshipped as Shailaputri.

Navaratri  is a nine nights Hindu festival, celebrated in the autumn every year. It is observed for different reasons and celebrated differently in various parts of the Indian. The festival is celebrated in the bright half of the Hindu calendar month Ashvin.
Navaratri festival in Gujarat is one of the main festivals. The traditional method includes fasting for a day, or partially every of the nine days such as by not eating grains or just taking liquid foods, in remembrance of one of nine aspects of Shakti goddess. The prayers are dedicated to a symbolic clay pot called garbo, as a remembrance of womb of the family and universe.
In Gujarat and nearby Hindu communities the garbo significance is celebrated through performance arts on all nine days. dances on Navaratri is called garbi or garabi.
